Hi, I’m Brent.
I know what it is like to struggle…
I am lucky to be a brain cancer survivor and have lived experience with bipolar disorder and depression. Because of those struggles, I have experienced mental health hospitalizations, job instability, and social challenges in life.
Through my subsequent recovery, I developed self-care routines – including time spent in nature. I find nature is a restorative and powerful place to practice self-care. This was especially true when immersed in nature in African villages as part of my mother’s anthropology study abroad program. We lived in a tent most of the time in the desert and saw elephants, giraffes, wild dogs, and hyenas.
Wherever and whenever it happens, self-care helps me do what I want in life.
Knowing and continuing to learn about recovery has helped me heal and have more autonomy.
Now, I feel honored to walk alongside you in your recovery journey as your Peer Support Specialist so that you can heal and have more autonomy. As part of our work together, I will use my experience with mental health and alcohol and drug challenges to help you.
As a Peer Specialist, I believe YOU are the authority in your care.
I also know that healing is possible and things can get better.
If you are looking for help to create self-care routines that make it more possible to do what you want in life, reach out today. We’ll talk about how I can help you.
